Sentiance
Korte Lozanastraat 20, Antwerpen, 2018, Belgium
Overview
Sentiance’s platform employs machine learning and deep learning to analyse IoT sensor data from phones, wearables and other IoT devices and generate insights. Its customer base spans the health, insurance and mobility sectors. The company says its technology helps companies make sense of data and enables predictive analysis to improve customer experience and develop personalized services. Sentiance also highlights compliance with strict European privacy laws. The newly raised €8 million Series C will be invested in the company’s global growth and development of its service. The Antwerp-based company previously raised over $7 million across its Series A and B rounds. Sentiance mines sensor data from smartphones and wearable devices to build context-aware, personalised profiles that clients can use to increase engagement, conversion and retention. The company and its CEO, Toon Vanparys (an early investor who took over from founder Filip Maertens), describe the technology as 'ambient intelligence' and expect consumers to live more in sync with connected devices by 2020. Sentiance plans to focus on the Internet of Things by providing an intelligence layer intended to deliver added value for end users. The startup currently employs over 20 people and intends to open satellite offices in San Francisco and Asia in 2016. Financially, the company has raised a new $5.2 million financing, bringing total funding to just south of $8 million after prior rounds earlier in 2013 and this year.
