Overview

Sentieo offers a cloud-based research platform that combines AI-driven document search, an integrated equity data terminal, modeling tools, and a research management system for executives, investment analysts, and researchers. Its AI capabilities include natural language processing for sifting millions of documents, automated summarization, categorization, sentiment analysis, KPI extraction, and model creation from filings. The integrated terminal provides historical financials, consensus data, M&A data, pricing, charts, public and private comparables, filings, transcripts, news, and profiles for over 980,000 private companies. Sentieo reported "record" revenue in 2020 and says it serves more than 1,000 customers, including about 800 institutional investment firms and multiple Fortune 500 corporations such as Schroders, Magellan Asset Management, and Roivant Sciences. The company says it will use new funding to expand market reach and grow its workforce. CEO David Lichtblau framed the product as a replacement for hard-to-use point solutions that slow competitive insight discovery. Sentieo is a fintech SaaS investment-research platform that uses machine learning and natural language processing to scan SEC filings, earnings transcripts and other documents, overlaying those sources with alternative data like web traffic, app downloads and Twitter chatter. The product includes a document search and synonym library, real-time pricing, an annotation-enabled Notebook, and visualizations that let users correlate signals (for example, search trends or sentiment) with stock performance. Sentieo ingests roughly 25 million documents, 50 data feeds and coverage of about 64,000 equities, and maintains a 65-person India-based engineering team as part of a 160-person company. Its customer base is about 700 clients, including top hedge funds, mutual funds, Fortune 500s and investment banks; licenses sell for roughly $500–$1,000 per month. Sentieo positions itself as an alternative/adjunct to legacy terminals like Bloomberg and data providers such as FactSet and Thomson Reuters, aiming to be a research management system tailored to professional analysts. The company plans to ramp sales and marketing following its recent fundraise to increase name recognition among traders and institutional users. Sentieo is a cloud-based financial research platform that organizes the world’s financial information to enable investment teams to search data, manage documents, and collaborate in a secure platform. The system processes over 20 million financial documents from more than 64,000 global companies and uses natural language processing algorithms to deliver information in seconds. Its integrated research management system streamlines search, document management, and collaboration for financial teams. The company serves over 450 clients, including five of the world’s top ten hedge funds, Fortune 500 corporations, investment banks, and other asset managers. Sentieo has over 130 employees across San Francisco, New York, and New Delhi. Following a $6m funding round, the company plans to expand its platform offerings and accelerate global growth.
