SentiLink
171 2nd Street, 4th Floor, San Francisco, California, 94105, United States
Overview
SentiLink provides real-time APIs that assess new account applications for identity theft, synthetic fraud and other application risks, allowing banks and lenders to require more information or reject high-risk applicants. The company emphasizes a deep, investigator-driven understanding of fraud, employing a team of risk analysts who manually review applications and feed discoveries back into production models. SentiLink works with more than 100 financial institutions, including three of the top 10 U.S. banks, and has verified several hundred million applications to date. Revenue grew roughly 5x year-over-year, and the company was a few months from profitability before choosing to delay profitability to accelerate growth. The startup has 25 employees, five accepted offers, and expects to end the year with 45–50 people. It plans to use the new capital to expand its product suite (including a planned KYC solution), hire across product and engineering, pursue partnerships and potentially make acquisitions. SentiLink offers a synthetic fraud prevention API that uses real-time risk modeling and risk scoring to detect and block synthetic identities. The company launched the product in beta last May and reports several of the world’s largest financial institutions are currently using the service. SentiLink’s technology is designed to prevent applicants from creating fictitious identities, establishing them in credit bureaus, and incurring large debts. The startup is compliant with SOC-2 Type II, PCI-DSS, and EI3PA data security standards. Co-founders Naftali Harris and Max Blumenfeld previously built and led Affirm’s Risk Decisioning and Risk Operations units. The company says it will use the new funding to continue expanding operations and its business reach.
