Sentra

Menachem Begin 156, 29th floor, Tel Aviv, 6492108, Israel

Overview

Sentra offers a cloud-native Data Security Platform (DSP) that scans data in customers' environments, delivering AI-powered classification (reported >95% accuracy) and posture management across multi-cloud, on-premises, and AI workflows. The platform emphasizes efficient scanning to reduce operational cost and scope while preserving data security posture, and it leverages large language models to adapt classification to business context. Sentra has added multiple Fortune 500 customers and reported more than 300% year-over-year revenue growth, positioning the company as a market mover in DSPM. The company is expanding its platform to address GenAI, AI assistants, and shadow data, adding detection and prevention capabilities to reduce data exposure and compliance gaps. Sentra plans to grow its team of data security experts and continue platform investment to help organizations adopt AI confidently without compromising data security. The company highlights industry recognition (GigaOm Radar: “Leader” and “Fast Mover”) and will be present at RSA Conference 2025 to showcase its offerings. Sentra builds a platform that discovers sensitive data in cloud environments, classifies it by sensitivity, and offers remediation plans and automated policies for data security teams. The software leverages algorithms and contextual signals such as access patterns and metadata to detect duplication, movement, or changes to data and to generate data access graphs showing who has access and how it was granted. Sentra also attempts to label proprietary assets (customer, HR and IP data) and can optionally send alerts or apply built-in data security policies when weak security posture or compliance violations are detected. The company targets cloud-native, medium- to large-sized organizations that hold data in the multiple petabytes. Sentra is headquartered in the U.S., was co-founded by Yoav Regev, Asaf Kochan, Ron Reiter and Yair Cohen (all former members of an Israel Defense Forces intelligence unit), and currently employs about 40 people. Management did not disclose customer counts or revenue, and the firm plans to grow headcount by "a couple dozen" by year-end while expanding its footprint beyond the U.S.
