Sentropy builds an AI platform to identify, track and purge online abuse, offering tools for human moderators and future automation. Co-founded by John Redgrave, Michele Banko, Taylor Rhyne and Ethan Breder, the company emerged from stealth after operating in a private beta. Its product lineup includes an API-based abuse detection engine branded Defend and an out-of-the-box community-management product called Detect, both moving to general availability. The system was trained on conversations from the open web, grey web and dark web and adapts to specific customers while feeding learnings back into a central "brain." Today the company focuses on text content (audio/video must be transcribed for now) and says it may add more automated moderation services over time. Sentropy announced $13 million in funding and has worked with several unnamed tech customers during its beta.
