SEON
Rákóczi út 42, Budapest, 1072, Hungary
Overview
Seon builds a wearable panic-button that, when activated, sends a call for help via the user’s cellphone to the nearest security officials and promises reaction times of five minutes or less (tests showed as low as three minutes). The founders launched the company in July last year and later rebranded from Securella to Seon based on market feedback. The team has deployed software to private security companies’ control rooms and tested guard apps while iterating the product. Seon chose Cape Town, South Africa to launch due to stronger security and payments infrastructure and higher tech maturity compared with Morocco, and expects to begin selling to Cape Town residents later this month. The company plans to sell the device for R650 and offer monitoring contracts at R250 per month or R150 per month on a six-month plan. Early commercial focus will be on areas close to Cape Town’s city centre and more affluent southern suburbs, and the startup is in talks with a ride-sharing company.
