Serenade
San Francisco, CA, United States
Overview
Serenade offers an app that plugs into editors like Visual Studio Code and IntelliJ and translates spoken instructions into syntactically correct code. The company launched its first commercial product, Serenade Pro, alongside the funding announcement. The founders created the product after co-founder Matt Wiethoff developed a severe repetitive stress injury that prevented him from typing. Serenade had five employees at the time of the raise and plans to grow to 15–20 over the next year. The startup raised a $2.1M seed to continue building the product, expand the team, and cultivate a community of users and product champions. The founders emphasize diversity in hiring and intend to use demos and community advocates to showcase the productivity benefits of coding by voice.
