Serendip aggregates songs that users and their friends share on Twitter and Facebook and arranges them into continuous playlists. It sources audio and video from YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud and Bandcamp and lets users play shared songs from profile pages. The service surfaces tracks from other users who like the same artists so you can follow people with similar tastes and discover DJ friends. Functionally it resembles Twitter-style following, includes features like ReAir and muting, and supports sharing playlists via links. Serendip has launched out of private beta and is now available to everyone. The company has six employees and has received almost $1 million in seed funding.
