Series is a San Francisco-based startup building a modular platform that centralizes and automates finance and operations as an alternative to traditional ERP systems. Founded by Brexton Pham, Daniel Lai and Tamby Kojak, the platform offers modular web apps for payroll and benefits orchestration, contract lifecycle management, B2B payments and treasury management, all sharing a unified system of record. Customers can bring their own vendors and financial institutions and stitch together only the modules they need, with shared authentication, notifications, transactions and permissions that carry over between modules. Series says the more products customers adopt, the more time and reconciliation the platform saves, and it currently serves “hundreds” of customers and employs around 30 people; Pham declined to disclose annual recurring revenue. The company plans to use its recent funding to build automation tools that execute cross-service workflows and then roll out modules focused on revenue operations and productivity management. Series positions itself against legacy ERPs like NetSuite and startups such as Xentral and Holded, arguing that its modular, easier-to-deploy approach shortens implementation time and reduces the need for consultants.
