58-64 City Road, London, Greater London, EC1Y 2AL, United Kingdom
Overview
Server Density offers a Software-as-a-Service platform that monitors servers and websites, syncing with major cloud providers and working both on-premise and in the cloud. The product surfaces diagnostics and performance data via a single console, API and mobile app. The company charges a monthly fee based on the number of systems monitored. It reports more than 1,000 customers and says it monitors over 300TB of data per month. Server Density says it will invest in enhancing its big data analytics to leverage the billions of metrics it collects daily and will use new capital to expand further in the U.S. The business has been largely bootstrapped to date and has supplemented that with prior Seedcamp and angel funding. Server Density provides a server monitoring service that alerts system administrators to performance issues and delivers status updates. The product is available via a browser interface and dedicated mobile apps for iPhone, iPad and Android. The company is launching an "app store for sysadmins," a plugin marketplace that lets developers sell or give away plugins to extend the core monitoring service; the marketplace was announced at a MongoDB conference in San Francisco. Customers named in the article include Intel, Motorola, the University of Oxford, DuckDuckGo, about.me and The New York Times. Server Density was founded by David Mytton. The company previously received initial funding from seed fund and incubator Seedcamp and has now secured new angel funding to accelerate growth through several new projects.
