In 2016 SessionM processed 1.5 billion consumer behaviors per month, associated them to more than 250 million profiles, and delivered 1.2 billion personalized engagements, each in less than 50 milliseconds on average. Its solution integrates with existing marketing technology, including Salesforce, and serves as an upgrade over legacy systems. The company said it will use added resources to expand its platform, acquire more blue-chip customers, and further expand its global footprint. SessionM is headquartered in Boston. Headquartered in Boston, SessionM positions mobile as the central point for customer engagement across the entire consumer journey. SessionM builds a lightweight game layer for mobile apps that lets users unlock achievements and earn rewards through its mPoints program. The product is designed to increase app usage and create new advertising opportunities for brands. In its press release the company said it is increasing app usage by nearly 2x and seeing ad clickthrough rates that are 20x the industry average. SessionM was founded by Quattro Wireless co‑founder Lars Albright, who previously led business development on Apple’s iAd after Quattro was acquired. The company initially raised a $6.5M round from Kleiner’s iFund and Highland Capital Partners. Current commercialization appears focused on driving engagement and ad performance for mobile app publishers and brand advertisers. session M raised $6.5M in a Series A to fund its mobile-app engagement product. The company provides a tool aimed at helping developers achieve higher rates of engagement and deliver more rewarding experiences to users. The round was led by Highland Capital Partners and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, with participation from several mobile industry leaders. In conjunction with the funding, Bob Davis (Highland) and Matt Murphy (KPCB) will join the company’s board. session M will be part of the KPCB iFund.
