Setoo is a UK insurtech startup that helps online businesses build and integrate simple insurance products automatically embedded into the customer journey. Its platform automates policy creation and claims flows and can trigger customer communications such as automated SMS in scenarios like missed flight connections or ski-holiday lack of snow. Setoo is licensed by the UK’s FCA to distribute products on behalf of insurers in the EU. The company focuses on exogenous events that disrupt customer journeys and differentiates from competitors such as ZhongAn, Moonshot, and Qover by enabling customers to quickly create their own protection products. Setoo says it will use new funding to expand across the EU and build additional products to help businesses embed more relevant insurance offerings. Financially, the company has now raised €10.3M ($12M) to date following an €8M ($9.3M) Series A.
