Overview
Seven Senders operates a parcel-delivery platform serving online retailers and manages logistics technology and service hubs to enable cross-border shipping. The company reported €100 million in annual revenue, doubling the prior year, and has expanded country offices in Amsterdam, Vienna, and Madrid. Its client roster includes ASOS, Shop Apotheke, Lillydoo, Mister Spex, Juniqe, Flaconi, Westwing, Best Secret, foodspring, Limango and Thomann. Seven Senders recently established capabilities to support post-Brexit UK flows and is pursuing expansion to support EU business activities of Chinese and U.S.-based online retailers. The company plans further technical product expansion and international growth, including opening new service hubs and extending services to dealers outside the European Economic Area. Seven Senders operates a delivery platform that optimizes monitoring, tracking and communication during parcel shipping across Europe. The company connects merchants with a virtual network of over 100 local premium carriers accessible via a single standardized interface. Merchants can deliver quickly and cost-effectively, tailoring delivery to end-customer needs and requirements. Customers include Best Secret, EMP, Limango, Thomann, Westwing and SumUp. Led by Dr. Johannes Plehn and based in Berlin, Seven Senders raised €16m in a Series B to support growth. The company intends to use the funds to promote further growth and international expansion. Seven Senders uses a virtual carrier network to connect online shops with more than 40 European carriers, enabling carrier selection tailored to requested service levels. The company bundles parcel deliveries from multiple online shops and feeds them into existing local carrier networks. Each connected retailer has access to a software solution that analyzes delivery times, delivery and return rates in real time and provides tracking from pick-up to delivery. Seven Senders currently sends almost half a million parcels to e-commerce customers across Europe every month and serves customers including Lesara, Juniqe, Mister Spex and Westwing. Founded in 2015 by Dr. Johannes Plehn and Thomas Hagemann, the company plans to use new funding to further develop its software and expand geographically beyond Germany. In the coming months it intends to add the Scandinavian countries and additional urban courier networks.
