85 Broad Street, 17th Floor, New York, 10004, United States

Overview

SGP BioEnergy’s core product is the Golden City Biorefinery, a large advanced biorefinery project located at the Panama Canal in Colón that is designed to produce mostly Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and green hydrogen. The facility is projected to produce up to 180,000 barrels per day (≈2.6 billion gallons per year) of advanced biofuel and up to 405,000 metric tons of green hydrogen annually when fully operational. The project is part of SGP’s Zero-Waste Ecosystem platform, which the company says is designed to meet all 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and is organized around five Impact Pillars: Industrial Innovation, Economic Empowerment, Humanitarian Impact, Accountability, and Shared Ownership. SGP has a strategic feedstock agreement with Latino Farmers and Ranchers International (LFRI) to develop a minimum of 10 million acres of industrial hemp for the biorefinery; LFRI manages over 32 million acres. Phase 1 production is on schedule to begin in early 2027. The company was founded by Randy Delbert Letang and positions itself as an integrated bioenergy products development firm assembling partners across agriculture, finance, manufacturing, and technology.
