Shanghai Henlius Biotech
11/F, B8 Building, No.188 Yizhou Rd, Xuhui District, Shanghai, 200233, China
Overview
Henlius is a Fosun-backed biopharmaceutical developer focused on monoclonal antibodies used to treat cancer and immune diseases. Most of its products remain in clinical trials; four programs have entered or passed late-stage trials and a mAb copycat was expected to launch in China in September. The company has filed an application to list on the NEEQ (the "New Third Board"), and its recent valuation could help it pursue a Hong Kong listing under amended rules for pre-profit biotech firms. Henlius reached a valuation of 10 billion yuan (~$1.55 billion) after raising $190 million led by Shenzhen GTJA Investment Group. Financially, Henlius lost 47 million yuan in the first three quarters of 2016 and reported revenue of nearly 20 million yuan. The company was formed in 2009 as a joint venture between Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co. Ltd. and a group of American scientists and is backed by parent Fosun.
