Sharewall provides a widget that gates access to articles based on how many people a user shares stories with, using social sharing as a currency. The system paces sharing requests by the size of a user’s social networks (on average one request every 15–20 stories) and, in tests, shared stories drove a 32% increase in traffic. Sharewall also collects reading-data to power machine‑learning-driven, targeted email newsletters that become inventory for additional ad sales; publishers keep the user data. The product is delivered as a one-line integration and positioned as a fully automated, plug‑and‑play solution. Founder and co‑CEO Anders Ibsen says email is the primary monetization channel and the company will initially roll out on mobile sites. One publisher is signed and two more are in final evaluation stages.
