Overview
ShareWell operates a peer-support mental health platform that hosts 10,000 support groups, positioning itself between online communities, coaching and therapy as an affordable alternative. The product centers on live, anonymous group sessions with safety features such as a “rule of three” to start sessions, prohibition of one-on-one communication, sitewide blocking, reporting/flagging, and host/session ratings. The community’s rules emphasize sharing personal experiences rather than giving advice or diagnoses; anyone can create and host a session after attending once, and ShareWell provides host training materials. Founder and CEO CeCe Cheng launched the company based on her own experience and brings prior experience from FirstRound Capital and Makers Fund. ShareWell says it intends to scale its network of peer-support groups and, over time, to refer people to additional modalities such as coaching and therapy. Financially, the company told TechCrunch it has raised a $1.3 million pre-seed round.
