Sharpen
33 Bradford Street, Office 30, Concord, MA, 01742, United States
Overview
Sharpen offers a science-backed digital platform combining an Early Advantage Reading Assessment (for children as young as two) and a scripted Reading Program for kindergarten through second grade. The products were developed by researchers and literacy experts and are based on the science of reading. Parents can assess a child’s risk of developing reading challenges across three dimensions—family history and current environment, key developmental moments, and the child’s actual skills—and then use the Reading Program to accelerate progress. The company says the Reading Program can improve a child’s reading skills by a full grade level in as little as three months with 15–30 minutes of daily use. Sharpen is led by President Jack Kelleher and is based in Concord, MA. The company plans to expand its content (later grades coming soon) and broaden operations and business reach.
