Sherpa is developing a yet-to-launch, artificial-intelligence–powered insurance platform that constructs a dynamic risk profile for each member and recommends or arranges coverage tailored to that individual. By removing the traditional product-centric approach, the company aims to insure people, not discrete policies, spanning categories such as home, health, life, travel, car, devices, and pets. Its technology continually refreshes each user’s risk assessment, alerting them to changing exposures and the associated cost of protection. Sherpa has partnered with reinsurance giant Gen Re and eliminates carrier commissions, passing those savings back to consumers. The founding team combines insurance veterans, data scientists, and technologists, led by former BCG insurance partner Chris Kaye. Although it has not yet launched commercially, the company has attracted outside capital to finalize product development and prepare for market entry. To date, Sherpa has raised a $2.3 million seed round, providing initial runway for product launch and early customer acquisition.
