Shine Interview provides a video-based recruitment and HR tech platform that enables remote end-to-end hiring via live and pre-recorded video interviews. Its product suite includes scheduling, diary management, video CVs and video-based engagement tools alongside other recruitment features. Led by founder David Copple, the company supports clients including the Royal Navy, RAF, Reed Specialist Recruitment, Capita Resourcing, University of London, Atom Bank and the NHS, and has users in 85 countries. Shine received a £1.3m funding package and intends to use the funds to embark on a programme of growth. The company plans to relocate to County Durham and expects to create around 20 new jobs in the next 18 months. The funds are earmarked to support the company’s expansion and hiring plans. Shine Interview offers a recruitment platform that enables managers to set interview questions online and have candidates record responses via mobile for asynchronous review and sharing. The product includes a Values Based Recruitment (VBR) tool to help organisations align candidates’ values, goals and behaviours with their own for better cultural fit. The platform aims to reduce recruitment time and costs, with managers able to cut time spent on early-stage interviews by almost half in some cases. Shine serves clients including Nissan, Matalan, Reed, SkyBet, Parkdean Resorts and the University of Toronto, and currently employs 10 people. The company plans to use new investment to expand research and development, sales and marketing headcount and to provide working capital. Management has positioned Shine to capitalise on demand as a leading UK video interview and pre-hire assessment platform.
