ShopLocket offers an ultra-simple way for users to sell goods online by creating an embeddable virtual “display case” that can be shared on social networks and embedded anywhere. The platform requires minimal setup (Facebook login) and lets merchants upload pictures and product information to start selling. ShopLocket charges a one-time $2 publishing fee and a 2.5% transaction fee on purchases made through the platform. It recently added support for digital goods and the ability to bundle digital and physical items, allowing merchants to combine, for example, a digital album with a T-shirt or a physical book with a digital sample chapter. The company launched earlier this year and participated in Toronto’s Extreme Startups incubator in the spring. ShopLocket has raised seed funding to support its product and growth.
