Shorla Pharma is an Irish specialty pharmaceutical company that has developed innovative oncology drugs with a focus on rare, orphan and pediatric cancers. The company was established in 2018 by Sharon Cunningham and Orlaith Ryan, both formerly with EirGen Pharma in Waterford. Shorla is based in Questum, a Clonmel, Ireland-based acceleration center. It completed an $8.3m Series A financing. The funding will support advancement of its product pipeline and expansion of technical and commercial operations in both Ireland and the US. In conjunction with the round, Alan O'Connell, a partner at lead investor Seroba Life Sciences, joined the Shorla board.
