SHOWBOX
Alon Ygael 94, Tel Aviv - Jaffa, Israel
Overview
Showbox is an online editing platform built for amateur and non-professional video makers, offering a freemium, modular toolkit of show formats, editing tools, templates, automatically generated backgrounds, and licensed third-party footage. The product is currently in closed beta with a waitlist of 50,000 users and the company claims it renders footage more quickly than other online platforms. Features include drop-in show formats (e.g., top five lists, tutorials), title cards, end slates, and free footage from Getty Images, Reuters, and Dori Media; videos can be hosted on Showbox and embedded on other sites. Founders Tomer Afek and Effie Atad designed the platform to lower production costs and cover the entire production workflow from filming to formatting. Showbox plans to use new funding to accelerate product development and add new features.
