SICCAR's core product is a distributed ledger technology (DLT) platform that consolidates an organisation's data in a single place to enable secure, auditable sharing while keeping control with the data owner. The platform is used to share data along complex supply chains in high-value manufacturing and to generate and assure manufacturing records in the oil and gas sector. It has also been tested across the Scottish Public Sector for student support, disability entitlement, and health and social care interactions to reduce evidence burdens for citizens. The company plans to use new funding to strengthen product development and expand customer teams, and to grow its executive team with marketing, customer engagement, and technical resources. SICCAR was founded in 2016 and benefitted from the Scottish Government CivTech accelerator; it has worked with the National Manufacturing Institute of Scotland and received support from The Oil and Gas Technology Centre.
