Sightera
Antwerp, Antwerpen, Belgium, Europe
Overview
Sightera develops an AI-native drug discovery platform that trains generative models on proprietary datasets derived from patient-derived biological samples and organoid preclinical models. By centering human disease biology—particularly samples from individuals with advanced, therapy-resistant disease—the company aims to design small molecules based on observed biological responses rather than solely chemical properties. Its stated therapeutic focuses are oncology and fibrosis, with a lead molecular glue oncology programme moving toward preclinical candidate selection. Sightera is a spin-off of the University of Antwerp and Antwerp University Hospital (UZA) and will use its recent funding to expand its research, AI and data science teams and to strengthen strategic partnerships with pharma and biotech companies. The company plans to scale its platform and accelerate translation of its pipeline using the new capital.
