Overview
Sigora Haiti S.A. is a clean energy micro-utility owned by San Francisco-based Sigora International Inc. The company deploys Sigora International’s proprietary prepaid metering and revenue management technology designed to enable utilities in frontier markets to consistently and effectively collect revenue. Funds will support Phase 1 of its Northwest electrification project, which aims to expand the company’s existing pilot grid network from 5,000 customers to 136,000 people (approximately 27,000 accounts). Phase 1 will add a renewable energy capacity of 3.5MWp. The recent US$2.5 million investment from ElectriFI is earmarked to finance this Phase 1 expansion. The project focuses on scaling pilot grid deployments and improving revenue management for utilities in frontier markets.
