SigScalr is a unified application observability platform purpose-built for modern microservice architectures, providing a single view for logs, metrics, and traces. The company emerged from stealth and closed a $1.76M pre-seed round to tackle cost inflation in enterprise observability. SigScalr is launching an open-source product, SigLens, a columnar database built for observability with dynamic compression and micro-indices that enable searching over compressed data without uncompressing 98% of data. The company reports SigLens is 54x faster than ClickHouse and 1,025x faster than Elasticsearch, can search and aggregate billions of log lines in under a second, run thousands of concurrent sub-second queries on terabytes of data, and support up to 1 petabyte. SigScalr can operate inside organizational firewalls or be hosted via SaaS to help customers reduce egress and cloud spend. The new funding will be used to launch SigLens OSS, expand go-to-market efforts, and recruit software and product development experts.
