Silver Tail Systems builds predictive analytics software to detect and prevent online fraud and abuse for large websites. Its product is offered both on-premise and as Software-as-a-Service and is deployed to protect online banks in EMEA and the U.S., payment providers, billion‑dollar e-commerce sites, and government websites. The company says its systems monitor more than 750 million users and over 1.8 billion web sessions per year and that its first customer deployment was in May 2010. Deployments have identified increases in man‑in‑the‑middle and man‑in‑the‑browser attacks, data scraping, and other sophisticated online attacks. Silver Tail positioned its technology as critical amid rising cybercrime and regulatory pressure, and management expects to accelerate growth and expand customer deployments. Financially, the company completed an approximately $20M Series B financing led by Andreessen Horowitz.
