Simile builds simulated users to support activities such as marketing and product research, aiming to model human behavior at scale. The company emerged from stealth and five months after its Series A announced a $200 million Series B at a $2 billion valuation. It was founded by Stanford PhD graduate Joon Sung Park, whose dissertation included a project called “Smallville” that involved AI agents carrying on simulated human lives. Simile has landed marquee customers, including CVS, whose venture arm also participated in the Series B. The company has drawn rapid venture interest alongside peer startups in the simulated-user space. Its stated ambition includes simulating "all eight billion people on earth, accurately and honestly."
