SimplePay operates a cloud-based payments platform that delivers customer-centric, multi-channel payment experiences and deep data insights for government and private operators across parking, transit, specialty retail and hospitality. The platform reduces the need for consumers to repeatedly present payment instruments and identity documentation and can integrate with existing ticketing hardware and booking engines. SimplePay serves government and private operators in Australia, New Zealand, Europe and America and since 2012 has connected more than 14,000 locations to its Smart City infrastructure. The company is led by founder Shadi Haddad and CEO Chris Hicks and is based in Sydney, Australia. It secured US$5m in initial funding and intends to use the proceeds to expand coverage to over 40,000 locations within the next 24 months and strengthen entry into the EMEA, GCC and Asian markets.
