Simworx designs and supplies advanced media-based theme park attractions centered on motion simulation and audiovisual experiences. Its proprietary Immersive Tunnel places guests in themed motion simulators surrounded by a 360-degree 3D cinema and immersed in lighting, sound, smells and weather effects. The company has delivered attractions including Angry Birds 4D at Thorpe Park, The Lost Temple Immersive Tunnel at Movie Park Germany, and a main attraction for Merlin’s Shrek’s Adventure in London. Founded in 2005 by Terry Monkton and Andrew Roberts, Simworx combines motion simulation, audio-visual systems and themed fabrication. Recent plans funded by new investment include expanding production capacity, increasing demonstration facilities and adding staff. The company is also integrating robotics capabilities following an acquisition to enhance its ride offerings. Simworx supplies simulation and 4D motion technology to theme parks and visitor attractions, including 4D motion theatres, special-effects motion simulations, and its 90-seat Immersive Tunnel moving tram with 360-degree 3D projection. The company has delivered installations to clients such as Drayton Manor, The Beatles Story, the London Science Museum, and Futuroscope, and has sold 3D and 4D cinemas to Turkey, Cyprus and Vietnam. Recent contracts cited include a 49-seat 4D motion theatre in Indonesia, a 4D special-effects motion attraction at a major science museum in Denmark, and the Immersive Tunnel for a theme park near Rome. Simworx received funding from Midven via its Exceed – Midlands Advantage fund and intends to use the proceeds to expand development and sales operations. As part of recent growth the company created six jobs across sales, project management and engineering.
