SingleHop, founded in 2006 and led by CEO Zak Boca, is a Chicago-based provider of cloud infrastructure (IaaS) and managed hosting for SMBs, enterprises and service providers. The company offers a platform for cloud IaaS and managed hosting and operates data centers across the U.S. and Europe. SingleHop serves more than 4,000 customers in over 124 countries. In May 2014 it secured $14.8M in venture debt financing from Silicon Valley Bank and Farnam Street Financial. This financing was added to the company’s 2012 Series A of $27.5M led by Battery Ventures. SingleHop said it will use the proceeds to continue to grow, further build out its technology products and services, and make strategic investments. SingleHop provides cloud infrastructure and an automated proprietary management platform called LEAP that lets clients deploy and manage web infrastructure from a unified interface. The company has shown rapid traction—ranking No. 25 on the Inc. 500 list after moving up from No. 58 the prior year. SingleHop operates two Chicago-area data centers and has more than 10,000 servers online, serving clients in 114 countries. The firm has about 80 employees. Management says the company will use new funding to accelerate growth and expand its footprint. Next on its roadmap is opening a data center facility in Phoenix.
