Overview
SingularityNET is a full-stack AI solution built on a decentralized protocol that the article describes as the first platform allowing AIs to interoperate at scale. The SNET ecosystem includes SingularityDAO, a 2021 spin-off focused on AI-powered, community-governed DeFi and cryptocurrency portfolio management tools. The organizations aim to bring artificial intelligence and machine learning to blockchain and decentralized finance to improve the quality and relevance of DeFi services. The companies plan to accelerate their product roadmap, increase adoption of AI tools, and scale the ecosystem. SingularityDAO’s Vaults (DynaSets) are cited in the article as having recent performance that helps protect against bear markets, which the release frames as validation of their technology. To support those plans they secured a capital commitment to strengthen growth and adoption. SingularityNET aims to create a decentralized, open marketplace where anyone can put AI online, wrap it in an API, and monetize algorithms and services. The project uses the OpenCog platform both as an initial set of AI tools to seed the network and as infrastructure to help express smart-contract logic. Its prototype runs on Ethereum, but the team says Ethereum is too slow and plans to make the smart-contract layer blockchain-agnostic by expressing contracts in an abstract way via OpenCog's logical language. The network will include a reputation system to grade and surface the best AIs, enabling niche algorithms to find buyers beyond large cloud providers. The team plans to integrate Hanson Robotics' Sophia by moving her brain from the Hanson cloud into SingularityNET to improve capabilities such as computer vision, with substantial improvements expected by August next year. Financially, the project raised $36 million in its AGI token sale, which sold out of available tokens roughly 60 seconds after the public sale opened.
