Sinumy develops fully hands-free authentication technology that leverages smartphones' Bluetooth to identify people and automatically perform authentication for gates, payments, and access control. The company reports it has improved positioning accuracy from roughly 1.5 meters to about 10 centimeters, aiming to provide fast and spoof-resistant authentication even in crowded environments. In March it conducted a hands-free authentication gate demonstration at Shirokanedai Station in collaboration with Tokyo Metro and Toshiba. Following the recent financing, Sinumy plans productization and mass production preparation for smart gates and smart spots and intends to expand joint development and PoCs in gate, access control, and payment areas. The company also plans to hire development and business development personnel and strengthen its organization, and has appointed Tomoya Yonaga as Director and COO and Shunji Yamanaka as a UI/UX advisor.
