SIPX offers an end-to-end, web-based digital copyright management platform that helps higher-education institutions manage copyrights and deliver digital course materials. The technology was developed at Stanford University and the company spun out in September 2012. Led by CEO Bob Weinschenk, SIPX connects universities and content providers to distribute digital documents. Customers include SUNY Empire State College and California State University Northridge; content partners include Elsevier, The Perseus Book Group and Georgetown University Press. The company raised $4.0m in a Series B to expand its customer base and integrate more content into its service. SIPX is based in Palo Alto, California.
