Sirakoss, based in Edinburgh and Aberdeen, UK, has developed the MaxSiTM Graft range of entirely synthetic bone graft substitutes for use in trauma, spinal and dental surgery. The MaxSi products contain no animal or human tissue and can be manufactured in high-quality batches. Synthetic grafts are intended to fuse bones to correct congenital or degenerative conditions or to treat non‑healing fractures after traumatic injury. The company was incorporated in 2010 and is led by CEO Brian Butchart. The recent financing will enable Sirakoss to complete product development and to implement its regulatory strategy for both European and US markets. Financially, the company secured a $4.8M Series A equity investment alongside the matching of an existing $1.5M Biomedical Catalyst award from Innovate UK.
