Six Degrees Group is a privately owned managed data services provider serving UK mid-market and corporate customers. Its converged services portfolio includes datacentre, connectivity, voice and cloud offerings designed to support always-on operations. The company raised £8 million in new funding from Penta Capital and completed the acquisition of Cloud Computing Centre (CCC). CCC is a Surrey-based managed cloud hosting expert established in 1999, bringing over 100 mid-market hosting customers who spend an average of £36,000 per annum. The acquisition takes Six Degrees Group’s run-rate to £50m revenue and £12m EBITDA and brings Microsoft Gold and Silver Hosting Partner credentials plus Hyper-V skillsets. Management says the deal reinforces the firm's mid-market focus and will strengthen its ability to win corporate cloud hosting contracts and deliver new services to existing clients. In October 2011 Six Degrees received £60m from Penta Capital. Six Degrees Group launched in the UK as a cloud services provider. The company debuted with almost 100 staff and is already serving over 1,200 business customers. Founder Alastair Mills, who previously sold his venture SpiriTel to Daisy for £37 million, is leading the new business. Private equity firm Penta Capital has agreed to invest £60 million (roughly $94 million) in the company. The funding was announced at launch to support the newly formed business and its existing customer base.
