SixDoors offers an iPhone app that lets users shop curated collections or by category from over 60 San Francisco indie retailers and receive purchases in as fast as 90 minutes. The app includes a "gift concierge" feature for building shopping lists and offering suggestions; clothing is not a focus. Since a recent release the company has doubled its user base and runs couriers from 10 AM to 9 PM using independent contractors. SixDoors takes a percentage of sales and charges a $6 delivery fee (temporarily waived through a holiday promotion). The startup has seven employees who also perform deliveries. Management says the new funding will be used to grow SixDoors' footprint and manage inbound interest from additional stores.
