Skidos offers a proprietary SDK that helps game developers convert casual mobile games into educational learning apps, initially focusing on maths. The SDK is distributed as a Unity package with a GUI and libraries that communicate with Skidos' servers. Learning content is mapped to popular maths curricula and is triggered by in-game events to reward progress and unlock virtual currency or power-ups. Skidos soft-launched the SDK at the Nordic Game conference in May 2016 and formally launched it in August 2016; it has since partnered with 10 international game studios and launched 9 converted games on app stores. The founder says pupils who play for ten weeks or more see an average four percent accuracy improvement in math questions, and the product targets children roughly aged 5–12. The company relocated its HQ to Copenhagen from New Delhi and has raised $750,000 in new funding led by SEED Capital Denmark with participation from Danish angel investors.
