Overview
SkillLab is an Amsterdam-based technology company that uses AI to turn people’s skills into career pathways and connect them to education and employment opportunities. Its mobile solution enables employment services and training providers to deliver skill-based career orientation remotely and at scale, building on the EU’s ESCO framework of 13,485 skills and automatic translation across 27 languages. The company was founded in 2018 with an initial focus on refugee integration and has since expanded to assist job seekers more broadly, now operating in over 15 countries. SkillLab’s platform is used by public and private employment agencies as well as education and training providers to generate personalized career pathways. The startup has received recognition from Google, having graduated from the Google AI Impact Challenge Accelerator and been a 2019 Google AI Impact Award grantee. SkillLab recently established a supervisory board chaired by Steven Koltai, with Mariam Assefa and Warner Philips joining the board.
