SKY ENGINE AI
7 Bell Yard, London, England, WC2A 2JR, United Kingdom
Overview
Sky Engine AI offers a simulation and deep-learning platform (Synthetic Data Cloud) that generates fully annotated, multimodal synthetic data, provides advanced domain-adaptation methods, and trains computer-vision algorithms at scale. The product targets data scientists and ML/software engineers building computer-vision projects across industries. The company says it has support from Nvidia and Microsoft and serves customers including Renault Group, Samsung and Ericsson. In its first 18 months it tripled revenues and scaled to over 40 people. Led by CEO and founder Dr Bartek Wlodarczyk, Sky Engine AI plans to use new funding to expand operations and broaden its business reach. The company is based in London, UK. SKY ENGINE AI develops the industry’s first Evolutionary Platform for Machine Learning in Virtual Reality, a SaaS system that creates digital twins of sensors and robots to train and test computer vision models in simulated environments. Its platform delivers physics-driven sensor simulations (cameras, thermal, IR, lidars, radars) and sensor data fusion, and can generate balanced synthetic imagery datasets that come pre-annotated and ready for machine learning. The company also provides a garden of deep neural networks optimized for tasks such as object detection, semantic segmentation, 3D position and pose estimation, and geometry reasoning, designed for training on synthetic samples. SKY ENGINE includes advanced domain adaptation algorithms intended to improve real-world inference performance. The platform targets enterprises across telecommunications, oil & gas, energy, healthcare, automotive, drones & robotics, and manufacturing to reduce data acquisition and human labeling costs and accelerate go-to-market. SKY ENGINE was incorporated in 2018 as a London-based research spin-off with a subsidiary in Poland and has partnerships and a pipeline including Nvidia and Microsoft. In July 2021 it closed a $1.2M financing round to accelerate growth, product innovation and expand engineering.
