Slim's iOS app uses natural language processing to build a customized feed of important activity across Facebook and LinkedIn, sending push notifications for major milestones. Users can train the feed by starring or hiding updates, receive daily or weekly digests (the weekly digest email is on by default), and respond directly via social networks, text, call, or email, with integrations like Gifts.com for gift-worthy events. The product is explicitly targeted at business users who need to stay aware of opportunities, active social media users who want a safety net, and infrequent users who want highlights. At launch Slim supports Facebook and LinkedIn and plans to add Twitter, Instagram, Google+, Salesforce and Yammer in the next month or so. The company is based in San Francisco and was co-founded by CEO Yair Levin and CTO Zeev Vax; the team consists of four people. Slim has closed $200,000 in seed funding from G7 Ventures and says the round is ongoing.
