SMART InSight develops enterprise application software focused on integrating and visualizing diverse information; its flagship product is Mµgen, a next-generation tool that integrates and visualizes multiple databases in short periods. The company has been developing and selling software since 2004 and became its own entity on 4 October 2013 after a split from Uchida Spectrum, Inc. Mµgen was announced on 22 July 2015 with endorsements from twenty companies and business partners that committed to use the product. The firm plans to expand into cloud and big data markets and to offer its application software globally. With the latest funding, SMART InSight intends to strengthen technological and retail ties with global cloud service providers and to launch Mµgen domestically and overseas, primarily targeting the U.S. market.
