Smartee focuses on R&D of original digital invisible orthodontics technology and provides medical design, manufacturing, sales and services for customized clear aligners. Founded in 2004 by Yao Junfeng, the company operates medical design centers with a team of hundreds and has self-developed automated manufacturing bases in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province and Ziyang, Sichuan Province. It has designed more than 500,000 cases and produces over 10 million invisible aligners annually. Smartee serves doctors and consumers across markets including the USA, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, the UK, Spain, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Australia, Singapore, the Philippines and Thailand. The company intends to use recent funding to accelerate industrial layout in invisible orthodontics, promote continuous R&D and innovation, strengthen brand building and team development, and expand market share domestically and overseas. In March 2022 Smartee completed a Series D financing round to support these initiatives. Smartee is a Shanghai-based developer of invisible orthodontics and digital orthodontic products, positioning itself as a domestic leader in China's invisible orthodontics market. In March 2019 the company completed a Series C financing described as "hundreds of millions of yuan." Smartee says the funds will be used mainly to expand its automated production line and to upgrade the "Smartee" brand logo. The company emphasizes talent recruitment and technological innovation as cornerstones for future growth and aims to lead the era of digital orthodontics in China. Smartee previously closed a Series B in 2017 (led by bioVENTURE), and continued institutional investor support is highlighted in the Series C announcement.
