Smarter Agent offers a mobile Platform as a Service that lets real estate agents create custom-branded apps for iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Palm, and Windows 7. Its apps surface MLS listings, points of interest, social feeds, news aggregation and other tools for consumers and agents. Consumer-facing features include up-to-date MLS data and property search technology that pinpoints a user’s location or searches by address, community, city or zip. The platform has amassed more than 2.5 million downloads and is growing 20% month over month. Financially, the company has now raised a total of $18 million. The new funding will be used to develop Smarter Agent’s mobile search platform further and to hire additional staff.
