Smarterials Technology produces "Two‑in‑One" surgical gloves that combine a double barrier function with a perforation indicator to lower contamination risk and speed up donning. The company intends to complete final development steps and prepare production for the mass market, aiming to scale the product and establish the gloves as a global surgical standard. Smarterials says the design reduces material and energy consumption compared with current safety standards. The startup has secured grant support and outside capital to fund commercialization and scaling. It received €1.85 million in Horizon 2020 SME Instrument (Phase II) grants and has closed a second seed financing round to advance manufacturing and market entry. The company was founded in 2016 and is based in Technology Park Berlin‑Adlershof.
