Smartfrog is an Internet of Things home security provider based in Dublin, EIRE and Berlin, Germany. It offers a complete home security solution with an app, starting at €5.95 per month, that lets users manage up to ten cameras and provides camera and video storage. The company has users in over 130 countries and a staff of 60 from 22 countries. Smartfrog has established partnerships with e-tailers and retailers including Amazon, Otto, Mediamarkt and Saturn, as well as utilities and consumer electronics distributors in Europe. The company raised €20m in this round and has raised over €28m in total to date. It intends to use the new capital to expand operations. Smartfrog provides a Home & Small Business Surveillance solution that includes a video camera, an app (to manage up to ten cameras) and video storage. The company launched its solution in October 2015 and says it is available globally with users in over 65 countries. Pricing starts at £4.95 per month with no minimum contract period. Smartfrog is led by Managing Directors Andreas Rudyk and John Fitzgerald and is hiring in Berlin. The company has bases in Ireland, China, Germany and Switzerland and plans to open offices in several additional countries, including the UK and USA.
