Smile is an open source solutions company based in Levallois-Perret, France. The company provides open source solutions across its offices in Paris, Lyon, Nantes, Montpellier and Bordeaux, and through subsidiaries in Casablanca, Morocco and Kiev, Ukraine. Smile employs 280 people in France and 330 worldwide. It has raised €2.5m in equity financing from Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners to initiate a new phase of growth. The funds are intended to support acquisitions in France and Europe and to create new ventures in new markets. In 2009 Smile acquired Spain-based Cometa Technologies and established Smile Switzerland as part of that expansion strategy.
