SnapDragon is an Edinburgh-based brand protection platform whose proprietary software Swoop detects counterfeit products and intellectual property infringements across popular online marketplaces. Swoop builds profiles of offending listings and sellers so brands can identify bad actors operating across multiple channels and remove listings rapidly. With the new funding the company plans to further develop its AI/ML capabilities and grow its customer base. SnapDragon says counterfeit items comprise 3.3% of global trade and positions its service as protecting revenues, reputations, and end consumers. The firm has grown by 25% in the last 12 months and counts clients including 4moms, b.box, AG Barr (producer of Irn Bru and Rubicon), Bondeye, and StylPro. To date SnapDragon has raised a total of £3 million.
