SocialEyes is a group video chat service that hooks into users' Facebook social graph and supports multiple simultaneous video streams. The platform lets users join groups, see which Facebook friends are online, run multiple chats at once, or bring people into conference-call style conversations. If someone is offline you can leave one-to-one or group recorded video messages, and the site supports sharing links, photos, and videos via a text chat that uses Embed.ly to embed web content. The company prepared to launch the service at DEMO and positions itself as Chatroulette+Facebook with elements of Seesmic and a web equivalent of Skype video chat. SocialEyes is backed by $5.1 million from RealNetworks founder Rob Glaser and Ignition Partners. CEO Rob Williams (formerly a manager of NetMeeting at Microsoft and previously worked for Glaser at RealNetworks) leads the team, with Joel Andren as marketing VP.
